About Cartona
Cartona is Egypt's leading B2B marketplace connecting retailers and wholesalers across the FMCG value chain. We're a fast-moving, tech-driven company reshaping how trade happens in Egypt's retail sector — and our HR function is core to how we scale that ambition.

The Role
We're looking for a Senior HR Business Partner who operates as a true strategic partner to the business not an extension of day-to-day HR operations or recruiting. This is a role for someone who is energized by ambiguity, sits at the table for business decisions, and sees culture and organizational design as levers for growth, not just "people programs."
You'll partner directly with senior leaders to translate business strategy into organizational and talent strategy, challenge the status quo, and drive the kind of cultural and structural change that lets Cartona scale
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, embedded in business planning, not brought in after decisions are made
  • Diagnose organizational health and design interventions that improve performance, structure, and ways of working
  • Lead culture and change initiatives
  • Build workforce and org-design strategy aligned to Cartona's growth trajectory, succession planning, organizational structure, capability building
  • Use people data to identify root causes and business risks, not just report metrics
  • Coach and challenge leaders on decisions involving their teams, performance, and organizational design
  • Drive innovation in how HR shows up, piloting new approaches rather than defaulting to established playbooks
  • Partner with core operational HR and recruiting while you'll influence and set direction
  • Set direction and lead Talent Acquisition strategy (workforce planning, hiring priorities, capability gaps)

REQUIREMENTS
  • 7+ years in HR, with meaningful time spent as a Business Partner or in a strategic HR role (not primarily generalist/operational or TA-focused)
  • A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and shaping business decisions, not just supporting them
  • Experience leading organizational change, restructuring, or culture transformation, ideally in a high-growth, tech, or fast-paced commercial environment
  • Strong business acumen , comfortable discussing P&L, growth strategy
  • Analytical mindset , able to use data to build a case and drive decisions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch rather than following an established playbook
  • Experience in tech, marketplace, e-commerce, or FMCG environments is a strong plus
  • High energy, strong work ethic, and real commitment , someone who drives change rather than waiting for it to be assigned
  • Fluent in Arabic and English
