Role Description

Immensa is seeking a full-time Data Capture Engineer for a hybrid role based in Houston, TX, with partial work-from-home flexibility. Capture all data and information required for reverse engineering of mechanical spare parts. Data such as: Dimensions and geometrical features, materials, hardness, and part features description. Operating laser & light scanners, measuring tools, PMI portable equipment, hardness testers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Operate Data Capturing Units as per IMMENSA Standards of Practices
  • Capture all data, dimensions and features of mechanical components and assemblies to generate the final 3D CAD model and engineering drawings of functional components.
  • Operate and maintain various scanning technologies, ensuring adherence to scanning techniques for different part types (e.g., impellers, cages, seats, plugs, nozzles).
  • Operating various measurement tools,
  • Identify the material and hardness of mechanical part.
  • Identify thread types.
  • Creation of annotation file, to annotate and highlight all required features.
  • Conduct final inspection of all captured data before releasing to the design team.
  • Work with data management platforms to ensure structured data handling and archiving.
  • Experience with inspection software.
  • Reporting any concerns and challenges on-time to direct supervisor.
  • Operating in remote areas and client location.
  • Assisting design team whenever required.
  • Creating the CAD model and 2D drawing of spare part.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a reputed university. Or equivalent degree.
  • Knowledge in reverse engineering & functional components CAD Design
  • Knowledge in dimensional measurements and drafting 2D manufacturing engineering drawings.
  • Experience in engineering and modelling software.
  • Problem solving skills to counter issues in advance.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter and fast learner able to take direction from multiple sources.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced work environment with pressure and tight deadlines
