The Settlement Specialist is responsible for managing daily settlements and reconciliation processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately matched, validated, and processed in compliance with company policies and operational procedures.

Job purpose:
The Settlement Specialist is responsible for managing daily settlements and reconciliation processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately matched, validated, and processed in compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process daily settlements and ensure all transactions are completed accurately and on time.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation between internal systems, bank statements, and payment gateways.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks, settlement discrepancies, and unmatched transactions.
- Monitor pending, failed, and reversed transactions to ensure proper resolution and closure.
- Coordinate with banks, finance teams, and external partners regarding reconciliation and settlement inquiries.
- Prepare reconciliation reports and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Ensure all settlement and reconciliation activities comply with company policies and financial controls.
- Analyze transaction data to identify inconsistencies, trends, or operational issues.
- Support month-end closing activities related to settlements and reconciliations.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Handle any ad-hoc operational and finance-related tasks when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in settlements, reconciliation, finance operations, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of reconciliation processes and financial transaction flows.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in fintech, banking, or payment industry is highly preferred.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
